The Iranian-Persian American Association of Greater Long Beach is a group of individuals who seek to be a positive element and to promote the spirit of philanthropy and volunteerism in the local Iranian-Persian American community.

We are a non-political, non-religious organization and have no affiliation with any political or religious group. Membership is open to any individual interested in the Iranian-Persian culture.

Additionally, we are a not for profit, volunteer group designed to promote the appreciation and understanding of the rich Iranian-Persian culture in Long Beach and surrounding cities. We strive to provide valuable information on cultural events, self and professional development, education, and community involvement to our members and the community.

 

BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Minoo Maasomi, Vice President

Minoo Maasomi is a retired Nursing Administrator who has lived in Long Beach for the past 3 years. Minoo has two daughters: Shadi and Suzie and two grandkids: Kian and Kaeven. Minoo retired from Los Angeles Unified School District, where she supervised 100 school nurses after 29 years.

Morteza Mostafavi, President

Morteza (Mory) Mostafavi is a manager of the Appeals division of the County of Los Angeles. He has J.D; Post Grad Diploma in Legal Studies, and Master Degree in International Commercial Law. He has been working with the County of Los Angeles since 1989. Mory has been a resident of beautiful city of Long Beach since 1992. He has a passion for community activities.

Mozhgan Mofidi, Treasurer

Mozhgan Mofidi is a Supervising Environmental Health Specialist who has been living in Long Beach with her husband for the past 25 years. Mozhgan has two kids: Shooka and Shya. Mozhgan is currently employed at the Environmental Health Care Agency, Orange County.

Mitra Baghdadi, Outreach/Secretary

Mitra Baghdadi is a Psycholinguist and Social Science researcher. As for her personal life, she enjoys cooking, gardening and is passionate about world music and cinema.  She has been living in Long Beach with her husband Ali Rezaei and her daughter Shiraz for the past 15 years.  Mitra and her husband both are employed at California State University, Long Beach and Shiraz goes to a local middle school.

Amir Zavichi, Outreach/Secretary

Amir Zavichi is a Professional Civil Engineer who has been living in Long Beach for the past 3 years. He moved to Long Beach from Florida where he obtained his PhD in the same field. He is currently working at the Port of Los Angeles as Construction Management Consultant.
